Personalised N-Level Tuition in Singapore

One-to-one online tutoring for N(A) and N(T) students β€” built around the student, not just the syllabus, to close learning gaps and build stronger examination technique.

Where Lessons Focus

  • βœ“  Closing foundational knowledge gaps
  • βœ“  Improving examination technique
  • βœ“  Past-year & practice question work
  • βœ“  Preparing for post-N-Level pathways

Support for N(A) and N(T) Students

A student who understands the syllabus but struggles to apply it needs a different approach from one with foundational gaps β€” we focus on identifying why a student is struggling, not just giving more worksheets.

Concept & Gap Closing

Understanding difficult syllabus concepts and closing foundational knowledge gaps.

Examination Technique

Interpreting questions, improving written answers, and stronger problem-solving skills.

Revision & Pathways

Building effective revision habits, managing exam workload, and preparing for post-N-Level pathways.

N(A) and N(T) Tuition

N(A)

Normal Academic Tutoring

Strengthening core subjects while developing better examination strategies β€” N(A) Maths, English, Science, Combined Humanities, Mother Tongue, POA, and other supported subjects. Tutoring can also focus on consistent performance across subjects for future progression opportunities.

N(T)

Normal Technical Tutoring

A highly structured, practical approach β€” building core concepts, subject fundamentals, English and Maths, examination technique, and independent study habits, with awareness of how N(T) results relate to the next educational pathway.

N-Level Subjects We Support

Mathematics

Algebra, numbers and arithmetic, geometry, mensuration, graphs, statistics, and word problems β€” identifying where reasoning breaks down and working backwards to strengthen it.

English

Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, sentence construction, editing, summary skills, and answer structure.

Science

Key terminology, applying concepts to unfamiliar questions, data interpretation, graphs and diagrams, and structured questions.

Humanities

Combined Humanities, History, Geography, and Social Studies β€” source-based questions, evidence selection, analysis, and evaluation.

Mother Tongue

Chinese, Malay, and Tamil β€” language development, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary, subject to tutor availability.

Principles of Accounts

Accounting principles, double-entry concepts, financial statements, calculations, and common errors.

Sec 3 & Sec 4 N-Level Tuition

Sec 3

Build Strong Foundations Early

Strengthening fundamental concepts, developing effective study habits, identifying weak topics, and building confidence before Sec 4 demands increase.

Sec 4

Exam Preparation

Targeted revision, past-paper practice, timed questions, mock examinations, and turning general revision into a structured programme based on individual weaknesses.

N-Level Exam Preparation and Revision

Spending more hours studying does not automatically produce better results. Study smarter, not simply longer.

Diagnostic Assessment

Identify areas of confidence and areas requiring support.

Targeted Revision

Prioritise topics instead of revising everything equally.

Past-Paper Practice

Exam-style questions to build familiarity with how concepts are tested.

Error Analysis

Review incorrect answers to identify recurring mistakes.

Timed Practice

Complete questions accurately within examination time limits.

N-Level Past Papers and Practice

A tutor can help a student analyse which questions they got wrong, why they got them wrong, whether the problem was knowledge, interpretation or technique, how marks are awarded, how to structure better answers, and which topics require further revision β€” turning past-paper practice into a feedback process rather than simply another worksheet.

N-Level Tuition and Your Child's Future Pathway

PFP DPP Secondary 5 ITE Other Post-Secondary Routes

StudyHours does not promise a particular pathway or result. Our role is to help students develop the knowledge, skills and examination performance needed to work towards their academic goals.

2026 N-Level and the 2027 SEC Transition

What N-Level students and parents need to know.

2026 is the final year the existing GCE N(T), N(A) and O-Level qualifications will be awarded. From 2027, graduating students will sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) at G1, G2 or G3 subject levels, as part of Singapore's move towards Full Subject-Based Banding. SEAB states G1, G2 and G3 broadly correspond to the examination standards associated with N(T), N(A) and O-Level respectively. StudyHours can support students currently preparing for the existing N-Level examinations while helping families understand the broader transition to the SEC.

Important: current students and parents should refer to SEAB and MOE for the latest official requirements, as subject availability and examination information can change.

Tuition for Every Student

Students Who Are Struggling

A student who is currently failing does not necessarily need more worksheets β€” they may need help understanding the concepts earlier lessons built upon. We identify missing foundational knowledge, poor revision habits, weak examination technique, and lack of confidence.

High-Achieving Students

Tutoring isn't only for students who are struggling β€” high performers can push towards stronger grades, refine examination technique, reduce careless mistakes, and prepare strategically for important examinations.

Support for Parents

A student may appear to be studying regularly but still struggle because their revision approach is ineffective.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is N-Level tuition?+

N-Level tuition provides additional academic support for students preparing for the GCE N(A)-Level or N(T)-Level examinations, including subject tutoring, revision, exam preparation, past-paper practice and study planning.

Do you offer N(A) and N(T) tuition?+

Yes. Students taking the Normal (Academic) pathway can receive subject-specific tutoring, and StudyHours can also support Normal (Technical) students, subject to tutor and subject availability.

Which N-Level subjects do you tutor?+

Subject availability can vary, but support may include Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, Mother Tongue, POA and other relevant subjects.

When should my child start N-Level tuition?+

Students can start whenever they identify a need for additional support. Starting earlier provides more time to address foundational gaps, while Sec 4 students may benefit from targeted examination preparation.

Can N-Level tuition help a student who is failing?+

Tutoring can help identify the reasons behind poor performance and provide targeted support. Results depend on the student's starting point, engagement, and consistency.

What happens to N-Level students from 2027?+

The existing N(A), N(T) and O-Level qualifications are replaced by the Singapore-Cambridge SEC from 2027. Students will sit subjects at G1, G2 or G3 levels.

What are G1, G2 and G3?+

Under the SEC, subjects are offered at G1, G2 or G3 levels. SEAB states these broadly correspond to the standards of the former N(T), N(A) and O-Level examinations respectively.

Can tutoring help with PFP or DPP?+

Tutoring can help students work towards stronger academic performance, but eligibility and admission requirements are determined by the relevant authorities and institutions.

Can the tutor help with past papers?+

Yes. Past-paper practice can be incorporated into tutoring to identify knowledge gaps, improve examination technique, and help students become more comfortable with question formats.

Can parents receive progress updates?+

This depends on the tutoring arrangement. Parents can discuss progress-reporting expectations with StudyHours when arranging tutoring.
